What water she is to souls
A sea, never dry to fill your bowls
She quenches your thirst for wisdom
Baths you clean
And makes you whole and blossom
She's not black or white
She's colour-less, water
Look through to see right
To the other side of my mother
A parent so
transparent
She's medicine
A dose of her heals many things
An ever bleeding source of strength
A space of refreshment
To us sprinters of life
She calls to scoop from her belly
without strife
My mother
Is life
Come take breathe from her
You Tired
She waits on ABOVE for rain
So she looks full again and again
My Mother
Is water
Soft yet stronger
Than fire
My mother
Has another year plus
To remember.
